Additional Information: Stone Duck Farms—named for the Stones River and Duck River that flow through our properties—comprises three distinct properties, each with its own unique character and history. Together, they represent over 200 years of continuous agricultural stewardship in Middle Tennessee. From the rolling hills along Thompson’s Creek to the fertile bottom lands of the Stones River and Duck River, our farms benefit from the natural resources that have sustained families and livestock for generations. Stone Duck Farms represents the convergence of three remarkable family legacies, each spanning generations of Tennessee agriculture. Our land tells the story of the Euless-Johnson, Holden, and Ayers families—pioneers who settled along Thompson’s Creek, the Stones River, and the Duck River, building farms that would endure through war, depression, and the ever-changing landscape of American agriculture. Two of the three farms hold Century Farm designations from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. We are working on application for the third farm. What began as homesteads in the 1820s and 1850s has grown into a heritage operation where multiple generations have worked the same soil, adapting while remaining rooted in the traditions of careful stewardship and community service. Stone Duck Farms is more than land and livestock—it’s the story of families who chose to stay, to work the soil their ancestors worked, and to pass forward both property and values. From Navy veterans to teachers, from funeral directors to food scientists, each generation has brought their own skills and experiences back to these Tennessee hills and river bottoms. We have been involved with feeder calf sales for decades. We’re pursuing diversification (selling "whole and half" cows) not only to increase farm income, but also to create meaningful opportunities for the next generation. Our sons are eager to get involved, and expanding into direct-to-consumer meat sales and farmers' markets allows them to contribute in hands-on, impactful ways. This growth supports our long-term vision for a sustainable, family-run operation while strengthening our financial foundation and deepening our connection to the local community. We are eager to share from OUR PASTURE TO YOUR PLATE beef.
