Green Leaf is a 2/3 acre urban farm located in the Soulsville neighborhood of South Memphis. The neighborhood and surrounding areas are by every metric a food desert. With little access to fresh, healthy produce and an unstable public transportation system residents either rely upon convenience stores or community gardens/urban farms for their nutritional needs; however, there is little chance of residents having their nutritional needs met by convenience stores making operations like our's crucial in the pursuit of an active and healthy life. Green Leaf not only grows produce for the neighborhood but staff also teach children and their families how to grow their own produce thereby becoming more self-reliant.
