Additional Information: Colonel Kevin Jacobi, retired after 30 years of service in the US ARMY and turned farmer in 2018. We are a seasonal farm, which means we offer our products when they are "in season" and do not carry over inventory. We offer pasture rotational grazed, Whole and cut Chicken, supplementally fed with a non-GMO, no soy, no antibiotic, no hormones feed. We operate under the USDA less than 20,000 bird exemption. The birds are raised and harvested on our farm in accordance with USDA, Tennessee Department of Agriculture and Tennessee Department of Conservation policies and guidelines. Our Chickens NEVER see a cage or a truck. Land Basket Farm has a Chicken Egg flock of 220 laying hens that are also pasture rotational grazed. Our hens live a happy stress free life on our Smoky Mountains Foothills farm, with their own personal security force of Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs, and a coop on wheels. Grass fed lamb is also available. We have a Flock of 70 Katahdin Ewes who lamb in early January every year. Our Lamb becomes available in July every year. In the fall we have Forest Raised Pork. Our pigs live, and play in the forest on the farm. They enjoy life just being "natural" pigs in the woods. They are supplementally fed a grain diet and have the opportunity to scavenge for nature's delights. (and yes, truffles are their favorites) At Land Basket Farm, We believe that the quality of life our animals experience is directly attributed to the quality of the meat they provide. Low stress matters, quality of life matters.
