Buzzy Bee Apiary
We are a husband (Howard) and wife (Charlene) in middle Tennessee whose children are all grown and married. Howard always wanted to have honey bees, so three and a half years ago we decided to buzz into beekeeping. It was right around the spring nectar flow time of the year. Howard doesn't know how to do anything small so we purchased 6 nuclear hives. We ended up getting enough honey to give our children and a few friends, and sell enough to pay for some of the expense of keeping bees. Beekeeping is not one and done hobby. Anyway. Howard almost gets consumed with it, and I help out with some things as well. We discovered this year most of our spring honey comes blackberries. A small amount comes from clover and wildflower. We enjoy the bees so much we decided to get an observation hive in our house. it's amazing to watch the stages of a hive.
