Martha Sundquist State Forest

Located 35 miles east of Knoxville, the Martha Sundquist State Forest encompasses 2,001 acres near the North Carolina-Tennessee border. Part of the forest is surrounded by the Cherokee National Forest. The forest is primarily used for recreation including horseback riding, hunting, fishing, timber production and demonstration. An 80 acre tract of the forest is considered a wildlife management area and has special provisions for bear hunting.
