The YARD is a Sustainable Urban Micro Farm located in downtown Ooltewah, TN. in the shadows of White Oak Mountain. The YARD naturally grows, propagates, promotes and sells rare heirloom and special varieties of various plants and crops. Including beans, cucurbits, greens, micro-greens, garlic, herbs, onions, tomatoes, squashes etc. Best farm practices in sustainability and Permaculture techniques are utilized as is incorporating Vermiculture and natural soil amendments, composting and value added natural and eco-friendly products and services. Educational classes, programs and tours are offered in Permaculture, Vermiculture, composting and other points of interest in sustainably. Various ages and skill level groups are accommodated while serving to encourage community outreach. Excess produce, products and wares along with a portion of profits will be donated to local charities and organizations.
