Additional Information: For our founder, Sundays at her maternal grandparents’ home with extended family or a random day of the week 'just because' celebration, food has always punctuated their lives. Yet, after a 2016 gluten, nut, and corn intolerance diagnosis, the food she’d known and loved (buttermilk biscuits, pound cake, layer cakes, dinner rolls and any and everything that contained gluten, corn and nuts) was now out of reach. They scoured supermarket shelves and the Internet looking for something that came remotely close. Since none did, she decided to do something-and that something was taking the recipes she'd inherited and stripping them of gluten. Wait. Truth be told, she called on her sister, a professional recipe developer, to do it. It was tedious and time-consuming, taking a few years, but it was worth it. It also took a 2015 article in the local newspaper on generational businesses. What was once a whispered dream is now Lily Maude's Foods. Southerners are known for cherishing quilts, cast iron skillets, recipes and storytelling. So, it seems only natural that Lily Maude's story is woven with heirloom recipes and an inspiring article.
